Sivagiri Vidyaniketan was started as Sadanam Nursery school managed by the Sree Narayana Dharma Sanghom Trust, Varkala. In 1990, it was renamed as Sivagiri Vidyaniketan . The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The medium of instruction is English. The academic year begins in June and ends in March. Hindi and Malayalam are additional languages, one of which can be dropped in std IX. The syllabus includes computer training, sports and games, art and craft, dance, music-vocal and instrumental and yoga.
